 Frank Magana
Founder, Greenleaf Yoga I was inspired as a child by the book, The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga, by Swami Vishnudevananda. The book belonged to my grandpa, Frank Magana, Sr. As a child, I remember I would flip through the pages and laugh non-stop at all the asanas and still do today at times.
I began practicing with no intention. I just knew it felt good and well, that was enough for me. My Yoga practice has taken me to some amazing and still unbelievable heights that I will always cherish. I value and respect my practice out of sheer gratitude for all that it has given me.
I’ve
practiced and
studied many
types of Yoga
and have learned
they are “All
Great” and are
pack filled with
endless benefits.
To me “Yoga” is
the only one
true action that
gives back equally; what
you put in is
what you get
out.
Hatha
Yoga is
where I
am today.
I teach
very intimately
and close
with the
people
who visit
my studio.
I really
believe
that a
trust and
a connection
should
be felt
while teaching
and practicing
Yoga, something
I learned
early on
from my
first Yoga
teacher,
Irene Holister,
a wonderful
and colorful
person
who I hold
dearly.
She continues
to be an
inspiration
on so many
levels.
Opening
a studio
of my own
has been
a goal
of mine
for some
time and
the process
has been
a joy every
step of
the way. |

Jennifer
Gaecke
Jennifer
began her yoga
journey through
yoga DVDs, practicing
with a certain
amount of unguided
discipline in her
home, when she
lived in Boston.
She took her first
(real) class in Los
Angeles and was blown
away by the difference,
experiencing the
powerful dynamic
of a class setting,
feeling the energy
of other people,
being inspired and
challenged by the
teacher. Lead by
a teacher for the
first time, she embraced
the role of student,
fostering the qualities
needed to be a good
student, such as
trust and the lightness
of heart and humor
it takes to go further.
She has taken two teacher trainings in Anusara yoga, a branch
of Hatha yoga. Her intention is to have the students leave
class feeling renewed and centered. Her love of yoga stems
from her gratitude of how yoga has empowered her to bring balance
and peace to her life. She hopes to give this same gift to
her students. She loves teaching all levels, from the beginner
to the seasoned expert and feels that she will always be a
student herself, striving to take the journey with a soft heart,
vibrant body, and sharp mind. Her teaching style incorporates
an emphasis of alignment, coupled with life-affirming philosophies.
She likes to get her students to move and feel their bodies,
while also connecting to the best part of themselves. She holds
gratitude to her many teachers, especially Tony Guiliano, Hagar
Harpak, Gina Zimmerman, and Tara Judelle. |

Sergio Rico My Yoga journey began over 10 Years ago in 110 degree room in Los Angeles Ca. After my first Bikram Yoga Class I knew Yoga was for me. I soon found myself practicing several styles of Yoga Bikram, Hatha, Ashtanga and Iyengar. I soon realized it does not matter what style of Yoga you practice as long as you practice.
Throughout my Yoga journey I have studied and met some wonderful instructors that have helped me expand my Yoga practice. My strongest influences have been Max Strom who has such a gift for teaching Yoga and a wonderful heart and Bikram Choudhury and the 26 hot and strong Yoga Asanas. I still continue cultivating and deepening my daily Yoga practice. |
